I personally like to have different tables and lamps to make the space interesting.
A nightstand lamp is a must of course but there s no reason not to mix and match styles and to introduce styles usually reserved for more formal spaces. End tables do not need to match but the proportions should be similar. Your lamps do not have to match. Don t try to do too many things in one room.
Though i do not have a matching end table in this house every one is large enough for a lamp and a decorative item as well as room for a book or glass. Why not integrate one into your bathroom décor for a touch of elegant whimsy. Don t try and stretch a small rug into the room and then have all the furniture floating around it. You might match your end table lamps and not your standing lamp or you might have matching standing lamps and a different table lamp.
