Easiest Way To Distress Kitchen Cabinets

In this video i show you how to distress cabinets with ease.
The antiquing glaze was all i needed to achieve the look i was after for my kitchen. Save the dollars and do it yourself. Use the sandpaper to remove the layers of paint on both the doors and the frames. When you re finished glazing wait for at least a day before you add a top coat.
Removing the actual cabinets is not always easy or possible so you will have to do the frames where they are. When the paint is dry you can distress the finish by hitting it with a chain and lightly sanding in the spots where cabinets get the most use to reveal the colors underneath. The distress process can be done on painted cabinets or on raw wooden cabinets because both will require further refinishing. Then use a cloth to rub a stain or glaze into the surface of the wood adding more layers until you re satisfied with the color.
Let it sit for a minute or so and then use a damp not wet cloth to wipe the off the glaze. When you re finished apply a few coats of acrylic or latex paint. My distressed cabinets give a fresh new look to my old dark ugly cabin. Your kitchen is the heart of your home.
