Painting the cabinets using chalk paints is not a big deal.
So i recently discovered annie sloan s chalk paint. Chalk paint is thick which means you don t have to sand or prime which saved me days of prep work. Nonetheless applying chalk paint can be a little time consuming as you might have to apply at least one coat wax or varnish over the chalk paint cabinet layer. Luckily chalk paints are thick but will also dry quickly and thus you can add another coating immediately.
You can roll the paint on but i felt like brushing it on gave me a better result. I ve been watching videos and seen write ups of people painting their kitchen cabinets with ascp. Chalk paint dries quickly. Chalk paint will hide heavily grained wood like oak.
You can read all about that right here kitchen cabinet makeover with chalk paint. My cabinets were fairly clean already so all i had to do was wipe them down with a clorox wipe. It spreads very easily. Chalk paint is thick and requires less coats of paint.
