The longer the stain sits the darker and richer the color will become.
Dip a sponge into an open can of stain. Start with the cabinet doors above the countertops and attached to the walls. Allow the stain to penetrate 5 15 minutes to desired color. Wipe off any excess stain with a soft rag in the direction of the grain.
Apply stain with a foam paintbrush. Tsp trisodium phosphate wipe your wood down before staining or repainting to remove any last solvent dirt or greasy residue. If you want a darker color you can apply a second coat in 4 6 hours. Apply the stain to the cabinets one cabinet door and drawer at a time.
I do not want to paint the cabinets white unless i have too but afraid if i try to strip and restain i will make more of a mess. Strip and stain kitchen cabinets.
