The Living Room Design Challenge

After a few weeks of teasing the design of my one room challenge virtual loft design i am excited to share the final boards today with all of my product selections from designer brands at high point market this year s challenge pushed me to create in a vacuum and although i have myself a few parameters in terms of the location and architecture of the space i really.
This layout works because it features lots of versatile small space seating options instead of overwhelming the room with a giant sofa. When you have to work with a room with an awkward shape implementing the small living room designs that you love becomes a major challenge. The focal point is the big comfy and well loved sofa that has years later seen better days. A room that has had memory after memory made.
Welcome to the third week of this virtual one room challenge round where i m designing the living and dining areas of an airy loft in atlanta s historic fulton cotton mill lofts building. Over time feedback from a diverse array of stakeholders actively using the challenge helps us understand how to refine and improve the program to have the greatest impacts. If you re new here i ve been participating in the 2018 spring one room challenge hosted by linda at calling it home. To remedy this the designer decided to hang some mirrors in the dining area.
This week i actually had to start making some hard decisions about the furniture in my space and the design took a turn in a much bolder direction if the image above didn t already give that away. Smokey neutrals living room. It may not look like it but this room had some incredible design challenges including a cramped dining area. Where each participants has to decorate one room and have it completed within 6 weeks.
